Goodbye, Spamcop’s email. You’ve been good to me.

I received an email tonight that my trusted Spamcop.net email address is going the way of the dinosaur and will be replaced by email forwarding. This upsets me, because I’d rather not use a free email service or an ISP-locked email address as my primary email address. I always got better customer service from Spamcop than I ever got from a free email service, specifically because I paid for it.

At least I have my own domain and hosting through Warped.com. I can switch to using that email as my primary personal email address. Warped.com’s customer service is stellar, too, so I don’t have to worry about getting lost in the shuffle when I have a technical issue.

If you have been emailing me through my Spamcop address, your emails will be forwarded to my new address once I set it up. When I reply you can update your address books.

This makes me a little sad, actually…spa cop always gave me a smile, because I envisioned a spam can with a badge…

Yeah, I liked the name, too! I’ll still be able to do spam reporting through them, but the IMAP/POP email service is going away. 🙁
