I’m knitting a ski cap to replace a well worn, crocheted one. This new hat is from a pattern I developed myself when I first taught myself cable knitting. Not only is the yarn in my favorite colors, it is soft. I’m more than halfway done with it.
From time to time I stop my work and admire the stitches. I can hardly believe something that lovely can come from my own hands. Knitting is a talent, and I am grateful my mother passed it down to me when I was around six years old.
