This is probably the same hawk that perched on the AC unit in our bedroom window this morning. I was afraid to run for my camera and scare it by my movement, so I laid there and watched it in awe. This time it perched in our neighbor’s window for over an hour. That gave me more than enough time and distance to grab my camera and telephoto lens and make over 70 photos.
When it visited our window it had a large branch in its beak that fell to the ground when it tried to place it. That’s not a good place to build a nest anyway; the windows open outward over the AC unit. I wish it was, though. I’d love to watch baby hawks for the next few months. I’ll keep my eyes out for a nest in the treetops below.
