Life is unfair, which means fighting without apology for what I want whenever I have the energy.

I won’t have the energy for every fight, and that is fine. I have to choose my battles wisely. But I have to choose to battle. It means speaking up. It means pushing back. It means not apologizing for doing so. And it means effectively healing myself with the help of my tribe whenever society stomps on me for doing so.

The persistently squeaky wheel gets the grease, not the one that rolls quietly and expects to be oiled due to merit alone.

Politely sitting down and shutting up creates victims, not victors.
