English Handbell Festival Weekend is always long and tiring and fun and educational. It starts with an hour of setup plus 6-1/2 hours of rehearsal on Saturday, continues with 3 hours of rehearsal on Sunday, and ends with a 90-minute concert plus 30 minutes tearing down and putting away everything. We are all whipped by the end of it all.
This was my fourth time ringing for our festival, and it was all of those things. Our guest conductor, Tim Waugh, pulled the best out of all five of us choirs while never losing his sense of humor. I enjoyed ringing under his direction.
For the foresight to request tomorrow off as a vacation day I give thanks as I collapse into a bone-tired heap.
