Every year around this time the New York Botanical Garden displays massive pumpkins from local farmers. There are also carvings, but I didn’t get a photo of that; they were not done when I visited. Even though my skin prefers summer, I love the colors of autumn. These gourd displays are in full fall color and catch the eye as soon as visitors enter through the main gate.
I wonder what they do with the pumpkins after the season ends. Most likely they compost them to help feed the gardens. I’d like to place an order for some pumpkin pies, though.
