Beautiful! What a delight. A wonderful way to start the night.

Thank you, and good morning!
Kino Jackson-Caldwell
Twilight settles against the silhouette
Of concrete monoliths,
Bedazzled by the precious stones set
Against its velvet backdrop,
As shuffling feet of multiple shapes and colors
Dance to the rhythm of the heart
Beating just beneath the surface
Of the street.
The staccato rumbling of the underground vessels
Shuttling the life’s blood of the city
Back and forth,
Ushering in the eternal battle
Between exhaustion and exuberance
Taking place inside
This urban oasis.
The last glint of fire
Racing to enlighten the rest of this orb
Populated by various ideas and notions,
Gives those that taste its final moments of warmth
The smallest glimmers of hope
Of bearing witness to its return
Once again.
As sleepy eyes give up
Their fight to remain vigilant,
The sunset’s lullaby
Promises another day,
Hinting, ever so subtly,
To its return performance
On the atmospheric stage.
And as this orb spins,
Oh so characteristically on its axis,
Fueled by Hope
And Love’s desire to rule,
The Sun bids farewell to this set of hours
In our presence
To begin anew tomorrow.
