Most of what I read today is happy-making. Not all, so I’ll get the bad news out of the way, first.

  • Like most cities, Portland looks one way on television and another way to the black people who live there. Mitchell S. Jackson writes about his experiences as a black person growing up in Portland.
  • Jenny McCarthy spreads anti-vaccination hysteria through misinformation. She recently took to Twitter to ask what people look for in a mate. Twitter had a lot to say, much of it having to do with vaccination. Please go read about it. You will laugh, just like I did.
  • You know those folks who are so high and mighty about their spirituality that they are no earthly good? No, I am not talking about fundamentalist/pentecostal Christians, this time. I am talking about certain yoga teachers. Bootleg Yoga soundly criticizes these self-proclaimed spiritual gurus. I agree with every word.
  • There is a store where everything is free. No, there really is. It’s a wonderful way of helping those in need.
  • Please go watch these adorable children’s marvelous cover of “Happy”. It is my favorite cover, thus far. You go, kids!
